Remnants left by nature are found, unearthed, and given new life. Any structural damage that the specimen has is anatomically repaired with 23k gold. Many come from wildlife sanctuaries around the world, all ethically sourced and never killed.
I pin insects and clean bones, preserving each relic under a glass dome that is either molded or hand-blown by me in a hot glass studio. Each specimen is then mounted on a one-of-a-kind pedestal or wall hanging that I construct with metal components found in electric and aerospace salvage yards. To build each piece, I primarily use a "cold connection" technique by using nuts and bolts, and by machining parts to fit together seamlessly. My sculptures are modern-day reliquaries designed to honor nature's beauty and intrigue. |
